Our Direct Support Professionals can provide support to an adult in various ways, including:

• Grooming - Assist the resident with grooming tasks such as shaving, hair care, skin care, and oral care. This assistance is provided to prepare the resident for the appropriate time of day, which includes morning preparation and bedtime routines.

• Dressing - Provide support to the resident in dressing. This may involve cueing the resident, setting out clothes in advance, or directly assisting with the dressing process. This assistance is provided both in the morning and evening to ensure the client is appropriately dressed.

• Meal Assistance  - Offer any necessary aid during meal times. This can include tasks such as helping with cutting food, feeding if required, or providing any other needed assistance to ensure the resident can comfortably and safely consume their meals.

• Housekeeping - Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment for the Resident. This assistance includes helping the resident clean their living space to meet the standard safety and sanitation requirements.

As a Direct Support Professional, their role involves attentively observing and redirecting behaviors that may require intervention, in accordance with the client's care plan. This includes closely monitoring the individual's actions, attitudes, and responses, and taking gentle and supportive measures to guide them towards more desirable and appropriate behaviors.
